To facilitate peer-to-peer delivery services, we collect data in three primary categories:

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and login credentials.
  • Identity Verification Data: To ensure trust and safety, we collect government-issued identification documents (e.g., passport, driver's license) and facial verification data (selfies) to verify your identity.
  • Payment Information: Bank account details or payment card information. Note that sensitive payment data is processed and stored by our third-party payment processor (Stripe); Adera does not store full credit card numbers.
  • User Content: Photos of items/packages, trip details, and communications with other users via our in-app chat.
  • Route and Address Details: Pickup and drop-off addresses, origin and destination selections, and other delivery details you enter to create trips and orders.

B. Information Created When You Use Our Services

  • Device Information: Hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Data: Access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, app crashes, and other system activity.

C. Information from Third Parties

  • Background Check Providers: We may receive information from third-party partners to verify your identity or background.
  • Payment Processors: We receive transaction confirmations and payment method details.

3. How We Use Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide the Services: Match Senders with Travelers, calculate pricing, and facilitate payments.
  • Enhance Safety & Security: Verify identities, detect and prevent fraud, and monitor trips for safety.
  • Customer Support: Investigate and resolve disputes or technical issues.
  • Communications: Enable communication between users (e.g., a Sender messaging a Traveler) and send you service updates.
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

Adera is a platform that connects users. Data sharing is inherent to our service.

A. With Other Users

  • If you are a Sender: We share your first name, pickup and delivery details, and item details with the Traveler who accepts your request.
  • If you are a Traveler: We share your first name, profile photo, and trip details with the Sender to help coordinate the delivery.

B. With Service Providers

We share data with vendors who help us operate, including:

  • Payment Processors (Stripe): For secure payment processing and payouts.
  • Identity Verification Services: To authenticate government IDs and prevent fraud.
  • Cloud Storage & Analytics: To host our infrastructure and analyze app performance.

C. For Legal Reasons

We may share information if we believe it is required by law, regulation, operating license or agreement, legal process or governmental request, or where the disclosure is otherwise appropriate due to a safety or similar concern.

5. Your Rights and Choices

  • Device Permissions: You can manage access to your camera and notifications through your device settings.
  • Account Information: You may update your profile information in the "My Account" section of the app.
  • Marketing Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails via the "unsubscribe" link.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Services and comply with legal obligations.

  • Transaction Data: Generally retained for 7 years for tax and auditing purposes.
  • Identity Data: Retained for the duration of your active account plus a safety retention period, unless a longer period is required by law.
  • Account Deletion: You may request account deletion by contacting us. We will delete your data within a reasonable timeframe, retaining only what is required by law or for fraud prevention.

We employ industry-standard security measures designed to protect your data. However, no transmission over the Internet is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover such data, we will delete it.
